Bio

Justin McEllroy has just graduated from Syracuse University with a BFA in Musical Theater. During his time at Syracuse, he appeared in numerous productions w/ the Drama Department including putting on his own cabaret entitled Young at Heart which he performed in Syracuse and hopes to do elsewhere. In addition to the department shows, Justin got the opportunity to travel to Florence, Italy to partake in an opera (a new modern opera of Snow White by Luigi Zaninelli that was done at one of Italy’s premiere opera houses, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino) as well as travel to Edinburgh, Scotland where he was a part of a play that was taken to the Fringe Festival. Justin also had the opportunity to work with a long list of acting professionals in Syracuse and New York.

Most recently, Justin studied in New York City as a participant in The Tepper Semester, a unique and rigorous artistic training program for actors. During the semester, Justin worked with an accomplished faculty, including James Calleri, Mike Mitchell, Peff Modeleski, Daisy Prince, Rebecca Guy, Louis Colaianni, and Charles Tuthill. Justin also had the opportunity to learn from Adam Guettel, Ted Sluberski, David Cady, David Caparelliotis, Gayle Keller, Andra Reeve, Alison Rinzel, Mark Saks, John Weidman, Richard Fisher, Jim Wilhelm, Adam Pelty, Beth Leavel, Bob Cline, Justin Greer, and the casts of Jersey Boys, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Emergence-See, A Chorus Line, Two Trains Running, The Wedding Singer, The Pain and the Itch, Sunset Limited and Carrie.

Seeing as Justin was introduced at the young age of two to singing and theater, it has continued to be a constant part of his life. Being a native of Erie, PA, Justin was involved in the Erie Playhouse and the Erie Opera Theater as well as taking classes at Long’s School of Dance. Mercyhurst Preperatory, Justin’s high school, was the place where the magic really began though learning from his two mentors James Gandolfo and Arthur Martone. Starring in shows such as The Music Man and Les Mis, Justin was able to find the fun in what theatre still offers him.

In addition to his love of theater and performing, Justin always finds time for his other passions - music, film, as well as his family and friends.
